Other Ways to Donate
Cash Donations
To mail a gift, click here for a printable donation form and mail it to the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Inc., 103 Old Iron Ore Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Use the form to make an honor or memorial gift and we will send an acknowledgement to those whom you specify. If you prefer to call and charge your gift with your Visa, Mastercard, Discover or Amex, please call 860-243-5200.
Stock Donations
When you donate appreciated stock to Fidelco, you can give more for less. First, you may avoid paying capital gains tax on the increase in the value of the stock. Second, you might receive a federal income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift. You should always consult with your financial advisor before initiating a charitable gift arrangement. To transfer stock to Fidelco, contact Nancy Levin, Executive Vice President at 860-243-5200 or nancylevin@fidelco.org.
IRA Charitable Rollover
Individuals age 70 ½ or older can make a direct transfer of up to $100,000 to Fidelco or other qualified charities from a regular IRA or Roth IRA without counting the donation as taxable income. In addition to the tax savings, direct rollover contributions count toward Required Minimum Distributions. We urge you to contact your tax advisor and IRA custodian about how you and Fidelco can benefit this year from an IRA Charitable Rollover. If you have questions or need a sample letter for your IRA custodian, please contact Susan Greer at sgreer@fidelco.org. Click here for more information.
Workplace Giving
The Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation is pleased to receive gifts through workplace giving campaigns, including the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), employee payroll deduction programs, matching gifts, volunteer grants programs and other special fundraising drives. Contact your human resources department to determine if any of these programs are available.
Federal Employees: Combined Federal Campaign
Fidelco is included in the 2008 Combined Federal Campaign under “National/International Independent Organizations.” Federal employees and postal workers can “Share the Vision” by designating a gift to Fidelco using Code #11513.
Matching Gifts
It is easy to double or even triple your gift to Fidelco if your employer has a matching gift program. Check with your human resources department for forms or directions for obtaining a matching gift. Retired? Many companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.
