15TH ANNUAL LIONS CLUB FENIX MEMORIAL DOUBLES BOWLING TOURNAMENT
TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY, MARCH 5, 2011
Hosted by the Vernon and Manchester Lions Clubs to Benefit
The Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Inc.
Vernon, Conn. - The 15th Annual Lions Club Fenix Memorial Doubles Bowling Tournament to benefit the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation (Fidelco) is being held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Spare Time Vernon Lanes, 350 Talcottville Road, Vernon, Conn. In case of snow, the tournament will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011. John Garoppolo, a Manchester resident and Fidelco client, started the annual bowling tournament to honor “Fenix,” his first Fidelco guide dog. This year’s tournament is dedicated to the memory of Robbie and Charlie Kaman, Fidelco’s co-founders.
Entry fee is $35 per team. There will be two sessions; one at 1 p.m. and one at 4:30 p.m. Each team will bowl three scratch games and prizes will be awarded to the top finishers. There will also be free pizza for all participants, raffles and special cash prizes for designated shots and matching a secret Mystery Score. Participants are encouraged to solicit pledges to help meet our goal of $10,000.
For more information and entry forms, contact John Garoppolo at 860-646-4410. Space is limited, so register today. If you cannot participate in the tournament but would like to support Fidelco, you can send a check, payable to the Manchester Lions Club, P.O. Box 614, Manchester, CT 06045-0614. YABA Bowlers are not eligible.
