Approximately fifty percent of our placements each year
are “successor dogs,” those dogs that take on the responsibilities of retiring Fidelco dogs or dogs from other schools. This is a delicate time, when our clients’ emotions must be balanced with their need to continue living full and productive lives. I should know. I recently retired “Oskar,” my second Fidelco guide dog. And although it broke my heart, it was best for all concerned. Your support means that when our clients need successor dogs, that Fidelco will be ready to match them with the best guides possible and

first 12 to 16 months of their lives, they are loved and
“socialized” by their foster families; volunteers like you
