Incredible–The Only Word that Fits
There are times in our personal and professional lives when opportunities come along that boggle the mind. Viking’s desire to publish a book about Fidelco comes readily to mind. But it’s not the only blessing that has come our way. In conjunction with our 50th anniversary celebration, two media forces have volunteered a considerable amount of time and expertise to give Fidelco a level of visibility throughout the year that we could not have hoped for on our own.
ClearChannel Radio in Connecticut (www.mycommunityaccess.com) is taking the lead as our media sponsor in 2010. This means sharing the Fidelco story with more than a million listeners who tune into their seven radio stations that include WHCN-FM The River 105.9; WWYZ-FM Country 92.5; WKSS-FM Kiss 95.7; WPOP-AM ESPN Radio 1410; WAVZ-AM ESPN Radio 1300; 960 WELI-AM and KC101.3-FM. But that’s not all.
ClearChannel is also hosting an event in February on Fidelco’s behalf (see our events calendar in this edition of FidelcoNews), upgrading the technological infrastructure at our Bloomfield campus and helping us find opportunities to partner with businesses throughout the area.
As Renee DiNino, ClearChannel’s director of community affairs and programming said, “Fidelco is such a wonderful organization. For us to be able help them continue their mission of providing top-quality guide dogs to people with visual disabilities is an honor.”
Likewise, Maier True Communication in Farmington, Connecticut (www.maier.com) is supporting Fidelco’s 50th anniversary with the development of high-level print, radio, TV and electronic communications that will help Fidelco share our story of empowerment to the community of the blind throughout the greater Hartford area and beyond. As Bill Maier recalls, “Once we learned about Fidelco and how their German Shepherd guide dogs help people regain the freedom they may have lost due to eye disease, I said to myself, ‘This is a story that must be told. We’re glad to be on the Fidelco team.’”
We are so grateful to ClearChannel and Maier not only for their creative gifts and far-reaching technologies, but for the friendships and collaboration that is making their efforts on our behalf even more meaningful. “Incredible” is truly the only word that fits their deeds.
