ACLI LogoACLI CAPITAL CHALLENGE
WEDNESDAY, MAY 16, 2018
Anacostia Park, Washington, DC

Thanks to the support of the American Council of Life Insurers, its member companies and the ACLI Capital Challenge Road Race, this guide dog partnership was made possible:

Aaron Hale and EylaSSGT AARON HALE (RET.) AND "EYLA"

Aaron Hale is a 14-year veteran of both the U.S. Army and Navy. He deployed once to Iraq and on his second mission to Afghanistan, his career as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Team Leader ended. An improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded in front of Aaron, severely wounding him and taking his sight.

Aaron never accepted defeat and is always looking for new challenges. While awaiting military retirement, he began teaching at the EOD School in Niceville, Florida, finished his degree in Business Administration, started running marathons, kayaking, and climbing big mountains.

In August 2015, Aaron lost his hearing due to a sudden case of bacterial meningitis. The illness caused Aaron to go completely deaf but it still hasn't stopped him.

In November 2017, Aaron was partnered with Fidelco guide dog "Eyla" thanks to the generous support of the American Council of Life Insurers and its annual ACLI Capital Challenge.

Aaron still speaks across the country, now with his new partner Eyla, to raise awareness for veterans' organizations, wounded veterans, his fudge business, and to help motivate others on their journey through life.  Challenge accepted.

Every 7 minutes someone in America becomes blind or visually impaired.

Blindness does not discriminate - it could happen to any one of us. For those fortunate enough to receive a Fidelco German Shepherd Guide Dog, it means a life of increased independence and a future filled with possibility. We invite you to share in the amazing process of creating a Fidelco Guide Dog.

Better yet, become a Fidelco Hero by making a recurring donation to the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation!

As a Fidelco Hero, you'll stand with us each and every month as we feed, raise and train our German Shepherd pups to become a hero guide partner. To become a Fidelco Hero, please check the "RECURRING GIFT" button below.

As a thank you for your generous support, we will send you our news magazine, FidelcoNews, with heart-warming stories of the recipients whose lives have been changed because of your generosity.
